George Fox and the 1652 Country

Friends from around the world find that their faith is strengthened by visiting places of significance in Quaker history.  The area of North-West England known as ‘1652 Country’ is where George Fox gathered many of the first Quakers.  Several ancient sites and buildings that date from the 17th century, are of interest and significance in the history of early Quakerism. Groups come to 1652 Country from all over the world as well as from local meetings, Quaker schools and other Quaker groups in the UK.
